The interactive multi-media exhibition entitled ‘what makes you who you are’ will open on Thursday, 7 February 2019 at Padepokan Seni Bagong Kussudiardja (PSBK), which will run through 2 March 2019. The central elements of this exhibition presents new digital and video installations by UK artist Caglar Kimyoncu (London, UK) that was recently filmed and edited at PSBK this past January. He improvised with 3 local actors to create scenes and portraits exploring the theme ‘what makes you who you are’.
“In my work, I‘m more interested in asking questions than providing answers. In this work, there aren’t single characters or one unified story. Rather, you are being invited to witness different sides of the same people, and different versions of the same stories. Or perhaps you are looking in the mirror.”

The other creative element of the exhibition is Caglar’s experimentation and utilization of Augmented Reality (AR). This technology offers additional access layers made available in virtual space including audio descriptions and captions, to enhance an inclusive experience that is accessible to more members of society to participate, in particularly the physically impaired.
