Learning through the Arts

Education is at the core of PSBK’s vision, as manifested in the name padepokan (a place to learn) and PSBK’s platforms. Our learning programs are for everyone.  Access and accessibility to the arts by the wider public is essential to PSBK’s mission. PSBK wants to explore the role of the arts, its rich diversity and associated communities, and the positive contributions they make to society. PSBK openly invites audiences to explore this with us through active participation.

Learning through the Arts

PSBK works with different artists and organizations, and develops different kinds of activities or tools to reach audiences who may not have or little access to the arts. Activities include special events, workshops, talks, tours, and exchange projects at PSBK.

PSBK offers a variety of engaging learning tools and activities with the arts to serve different needs of visitors and schools, and are often in conjunction with current events at PSBK.

School Visit

PSBK has a program devised specifically for school visits, offering opportunities for teachers to integrate relevant themes, if applicable. Reservations and planning of class visits are required in advance.  PSBK can provide information to assist in planning.  Limited attendance may apply for certain activities.

If you are interested in arranging a visit for your class, please contact [email protected] and share the following information:

  • Range of dates for your visit
  • Contact information and profile of the school
  • Age group, group size, and brief profile of participants (students-teachers)
  • A brief statement of your expectation and goals and the kind of activity you wish to include in your planning
  • Budget restrictions (if any)

Please check our events page to see if PSBK is offering any educational activities that are open to the public.

Arts-Based Creativity Workshop

PSBK has developed an Arts-Based Creativity Workshop model that explores creative processes to boost the spirit of curiosity, and the desire to investigate and utilize the power of imagination.  Activities provide an effective way to foster self-knowledge, inspiration, and stimulate dialogue that cultivates the interpretation of circumstances that is relevant to the individual.   This model has brought together people from all backgrounds and professions to experience a deeper connection with arts-based practice and collaboration.

This workshop model is appropriate for groups who seek stimulation of creativity and cultural discourse through fun methods that focus on “process”.  Reservations and planning of workshops are required in advance.  PSBK can provide information to assist in planning.  Limited attendance is required.

If you are interested in arranging a creativity workshop for your group, please contact [email protected] and share the following information:

  • Contact information and profile of your company or community
  • A brief statement of your learning goals and objectives for the group that you wish to include in your planning
