“CIRCUIT: LEGACY ETAPE ONE” is an art exhibition initiated by PSBK to celebrate the cultural achievements as an artist of the late Indonesian maestro Bagong Kussudiardja (1928-2004). Year 2018 marks the anniversary of Bagong Kussudiardja’s birth (90th), and two important organizations he established, Pusat Latihan Tari Bagong Kussudiardja (60th) and Padepokan Seni Bagong Kussudiardja (40th). Throughout the year, PSBK will initiate a series of different events as an opportunity to commemorate as well as trace the late artist’s exemplary achievements and contributions to Modern Indonesian art and culture.
This exhibition will feature the artwork of Bagong Kussudiardja (BK) along with his sons and grandson, Otok Bima Sidharta, Butet Kartaredjasa, Djaduk Ferianto, and Doni Maulistya. This exhibition event serves as an entrance to understand the transmission of artistic talent that occur in Otok, Butet, and Aul; and could be used to see the esthetic connection or disconnection between Bagong, to the child, and to the grandchild.
